The Ogbunike Caves are a collection of caves that have been in use for centuries. During the slave trade era, locals hid in the caves so as to avoid slave traders. The caves, located in a valley blanketed by tropical rain forests behind the “Ogba Hills” were discovered by a hunter named Ukwa. The cave has a tableland which is used as a relaxation spot by visitors to the caves. Every year, the caves host the “Ime Ogba” festival to commemorate the discovery of the caves.
