An epitome of the normal Lagos nightlife, The New Afrika Shrine aka Kalakuta Republic is a meeting point for lovers of weed and music, especially afrobeat. If you also love Fela and any of his sons/ protogies, then this is the place to be.

The shrine hosts the annual Felabration festival and is open to anyone at anytime, however, most of the performances take place in the evenings especial on weekends. 

Fun fact. Smoking of weed is illegal in Nigeria but the shrine  is the only place in Lagos you can smoke weed and not get arrested. So even if you d not smoke weed, expect your neighbor to smoke.
